Orchid Species: Corybas sinii
(This name is currently accepted by Kew.)
Corybas sinii is an orchid species identified by Tang & F.T.Wang in 1951.
ORIGIN: Found in Guangxi state of China and in central Taiwan in forests at elevations of 1500 to 2300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with an ovoid to ellipsoid tuber giving rise to an erect, long-curved, hairy, subterranean stem with a puberulent, single, short cataphyl at the base stem and a solitary, near the apex of the stem, sessile, broadly ovate, reticulate veination, cordate basally, amplexicaul, shallowly undulate margins, long acuminate apically leaf that blooms in the later spring through mid fall on a short, single flowered inflorescence with a subulate, as long as the ovary floral bract.
