Dendrobium conanthum is an orchid species identified by Schltr. in 1912.
ORIGIN: A medium to large-sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte found in New Guinea, New Caledonia, the Philippines and Vanuatu at elevations of sea level to 800 meters occurring in swamplands and low riverine forests on mangrove and trees.
DESCRIPTION: A medium to large-sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte found in New Guinea, New Caledonia, the Philippines and Vanuatu at elevations of sea level to 800 meters occurring in swamplands and low riverine forests on mangrove and trees, with erect canes carrying 4 to 6 leaves often having their roots in high water for the winter and spring then blooming on an axillary, erect, 12' to 24 [30 to 60 cm] long, racemose, few to many [50] flowered inflorescence with nodding, wide-open flowers that arise from the nodes on the upper portion of the newly mature and old pseudobulbs.
