ORIGIN: Found in Cameroon, Gabon, Zaire, Central African Republic, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia in disturbed moist woodlands, rainforests and neglected plantations at elevations of 800 to 1200 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm growing epiphyte with a woody stem carrying 4 to 7, distichous, oblanceolate, slightly oblique to falcate, unequally bilobed apically, fleshy, dark green, dotted black to dark brown leaves that blooms in the spring on an axillary or below the leaves, erect, horizontal or pendant, terete, racemose, fractiflex, greyish green dotted with brown, 1.6 to 3.2 [4 to 8 cm] long, 4 to 16 flowered inflorescence with 2 to 3, black dotted, tight lower bracts and spreading, triangular, subacute to obtuse upper bracts and carrying nocturnally fragrant flowers.
