ORIGIN: Found in Trinidad, French Guiana, Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela and Brazil in savannahs along creeks and streams, at elevations around 400 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Creeping, small sized, hot growing epiphyte or terrestrial with 2 to 4 [5 to 10 cm] between each narrowly fusiform, longly attenuate to towards the apex pseudobulbs enveloped completely by membraneaceous sheaths and carrying a single, plicate, 5 nerved, oblong, oblong-lanceolate, to elliptic, acuminate, attenuate below into the channeled, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, racemose, Somewhat flexuous, laxly 3 to 8 flowered, 2.4 to 6 [65 to 15 cm] long inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb with a few basal, membraneaceous, acute bracts and triangular-ovate, acute, membraneaceous, floral bracts and carrying showy, fragrant or not flowers.
