DESCRIPTION: A large sized, hot growing epiphyte with 2 leaves that is at elevations of 200 to 900 meters with clavate, terete below, lightly compressed, grooved above, 4 to 6 noded pseudobulbs carrying 2 or 3, apical, narrowly oblong, obtuse, coriaceous, acinate leaves that blooms in the fall and early winter on a terminal, to more than 4' [120 cm] long, apical, racemose, many [8 to 15] flowered, clustered at the apex of the inflorescence with prominent, deflexed, linear-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts and has large, showy, waxy, short-lived flowers arising on a mature psiuedobulb and is related to Schomburgkia crispa Lindley.
