ORIGIN: Found in Nigeria, Burundi, Central African Republic, Zaire, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Angola, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe in grasslands and swamps at elevations of 900 to 2200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial orchid with an erect stem carrying numerous, lanceolate, decreasing in size leaves ascending the stem until becoming bracts and blooms in the late spring and summer on an erect terminal, slender, densely many flowered, to 5.6 [14 cm] long, racemose inflorescence with small brightly colored flowers.
