ORIGIN: Found in the western Himalayas, India, Assam, eastern Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Hunan, Guangdong, Hong Kong, Guangxi, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan provinces of China, Vietnam and Taiwan on scrubby slopes, grasslands, hilltops and damp areas along gullies at elevations of 200 to 2100 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with oblong tubers giving rise to an erect stem with 2 to 3, basal, tubular sheaths and carrying densely, 4 to 6, elliptic to ovate, sometimes oblong-elliptic, acute apically leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a terminal, 3 to 10 flowered inflorescence that is as long as the leaves to slightly shorter but, much longer than the floral bracts.
