ORIGIN: Found in Sri Lanka, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam and India at elevations of 300 to 1500 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Large to giant sized, hot to cool growing lithophyte on mossy limestone rocks or occasional epiphyte on tree trunk bases with closely clustered, oblong pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, oblong, deep green, lustrous, thickly coriaceous leaf that blooms in the summer on a slender, basal, just longer than the leaf, 4 to 8 [10 to 20 cm] long, 2 to 6 flowered inflorescence carrying the flowers in an apical umbel.
