DESCRIPTION: This small to medium sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose, epiphytic species from Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil is found in wet montane forests in upper tree branches of citrus trees at elevations of 350 to 1000 meters with ellipsoid, complanate, ancipitous, ridged, glossy pseudobulbs subtended by several foliaceous bracts and has a single, apical, lanceolate, acute, coriaceous-rigid leaf that has a narrowed conduplicate petiole-like base that blooms on an axillary, 4 3/4 [12 cm] long, laxly arcuate-pendant, racemose, 3 to 8 flowered inflorescence with 3 distant, lanceolate, acuminate bractas and subsimilar smaller floral bracts arising on a mature pseudobulb with sequential opening flowers occurring in the summer and fall.
