ORIGIN: Found in New Guinea at elevations around 2200 to 2300 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, rather slender, cold growing terrestrial with a short rhizome giving rise to filiform, elongate, flexuous, puberulous stems carrying in a rosette, erect-patent, dark green, oval to oblong-elliptic, acuminate, cuneate below into the dilated petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on a graceful, terete, minutely puberulous, peduncle to 20 [50 cm] long, with some scattered backward facing white hairs, few, clasping bracted, rachis to 6 [15 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with erect-patent, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, pubescent, a little shorter than the ovary floral bracts carrying fragrant flowers.
