ORIGIN: Found in Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, Trinidad & Tobago, Venezuela, Guyana, Fr. Guiana, Surinam and northern Brazil, Ecuador and Peru in riverside, deciduous and in light remnant forests at elevations of 300 to 1000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, scrambling, hot to warm growing epiphyte with stems enveloped by close fitting leaf sheaths and giving rise to many, long running roots that may or may not attach to anything, with some embryonic, subterete, apical, greeny brown, deciduous leaves that blooms in the spring from anywhere along the stem, several, short to .6 [1.6 cm] long, very crowded, two ranked, several flowered inflorescence with small, rather shapeless, dark brown floral bracts and carrying very short lived flowers.
