DESCRIPTION: A medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte that is found from Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru and occurs at elevations of 600 to 1200 meters on tree trunks in shady, damp, wet, montane forests with a creeping rhizome carrying slightly fusiform, pendant, cane-like pseudobulbs enveloped basally by distichous, foliaceous sheaths and carrying thin, deciduous, plicate, elliptic-ligulate, acute leaves and blooms in the spring and summer on a pendulous to arching, basal, short to 7 1/5 [18 cm], racemose, several flowered inflorescence arising on a maturing pseudobulb.
