ORIGIN: Found in the eastern Himalayas, Assam, Bhutan, Sikkim, Andaman Islands, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, southern China, Vietnam, the Malay peninsula, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Lesser Sunda Islands, Sulawesi and the Philippines in evergreen lowland forests and primary montane forests at elevations of 200 to 1600 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with a thick stem carrying 4 to many, ligulate, broadly and unequally rounded apically, leathery, wavy margined leaves that blooms in the late winter, spring and summer on a simple or sparsely few branched, pendant, stout, short to 6.8 [17 cm] long, densely many flowered inflorescence with the flowers held at the apex in a clump with successively opening, somewhat cup-shaped flowers.
