ORIGIN: Found in southeastern Peru and in Bolivia in cloud forests at elevations of 2800 to 3200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial on roadbanks with erect, fasciculate, stout ramicauls enveloped by a long, loose tubular sheath more or less covering the upper half and 2 to 3 imbricating, basal sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring and summer on 1 to 3, 3.2 to 6 [8 to 15 cm] long, secund, densely and simultaneously many flowered inflorescence subtended by a slender spathe from an annulus and has infudibular floral bracts.
