ORIGIN: Found in Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia and Ecuador in cloud forests at elevations of 750 to 2000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an erect, stout, rarely basally branched stems enveloped completely by leaf bearing sheaths each carrying distichous, narrowly elliptical, acute, conduplicate below, basally clasping leaves that blooms mostly in the late winter and early spring on a horizontal to ascending, from the base of the stem, to 4 [10 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.
