ORIGIN: Found in Colombia and northwestern Ecuador at elevations around 1200 to 1410 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool growing epiphyte with caespitose, narrowly ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped almost completely by 8 to 10, distichous, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, oblong-elliptic, acute, conduplicate below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms iun the fall on an axillary, erect to slightly wiry, few flowered, fractiflex, to 20 to 80 [50 to 200 cm] long, sometimes paniculate with a few widely spaced, short, fractiflex, few flowered branches, successively many flowered inflorescence with conspicuous, convex-involute bracts.
