Guiana, Guyana, Surinam and Bolivia as a large sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial orchid at elevations of 300 to 2000 meters with cylindric, tapering at both ends, 10 to 20 noded pseudobulbs and carrying many imbricating leaf bearing sheaths with lanceolate, plicate, acute leaves that blooms in the spring on a basal, sheathed to the first branch, 13 [32 cm] long, paniculate, many flowered inflorescence that arises with a newly emerging pseudobulb.
