Cystorchis fusca is an orchid species identified by (Lindl.) Benth. & Hook.f. in 1883. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Goodyera fusca.
ORIGIN: Found in the western Himalayas, the Chinese Himalayas, Assam, the eastern Himalayas, Nepal and Myanmar in peaty soil among dwarf rhodenendrons in moss banks, on open hillsides on rocks and on cliffs at elevations around 3600 to 5170 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cold growing terrestrial or lithophyte with a glabrous stem with a cluster of several oblong, acute, leaf-like bracts above, below, thick, fleshy, 5 veined, margins revolute, narrowing below into the broad petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later summer and early fall on a compact, pubescent, brown-scaly, not secund, 2 to 4.4 long, densely many flowered inflorescence with boat-shaped, ovate-oblong, sub-acute, longer than the ovary floral bracts.
