Dasyglossum hoeijeri is an orchid species identified by (Dalström) Königer in 2010. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Cyrtochilum hoeijeri.
ORIGIN: Found in Azuay and Loja Ecuador in upper level cloud forests at elevations around 2500 to 2900 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cold growing terrestrial or epiphyte with caespitose, narrowly-ovoid sllightly ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 6 to 7 distichous, uppermost foliaceous sheaths and carrying a single conduplicate, linear to narrowly ovate, acuminate, subpetiolate basally leaf that blooms in the late summer and early fall on 1 to 2, axillary, arising from the uppermost sheaths, erect, suberect to arching, to 4.8 to 10 [12 to 25 cm] long, peduncle with 1 to 2 adpressed scale like bracts, racemose to paniculate inflorescence with similar yet smaller floral bracts and carrying 2 to 9 flowers that do not open well.
