Dendrobium bellum is an orchid species identified by J.J.Sm. in 1910. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Dendrobium eximium.
ORIGIN: Found in New Guinea as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte on moss covered trees at elevations of 400 to 650 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Found in New Guinea as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte on moss covered trees at elevations of 400 to 650 meters with stems that have 5 nodes below the 2 apical, oblong, spreading leaves that blooms in the spring and later in the fall on an erect, to 6, few to many flowered, racemose inflorescence arising from nodes near the apex of the canes with large, showy flowers. This species requires a slight lessening of water and fertilizer in the winter, but never allow the plant to dry out completely.
