Dendrobium parthenium is an orchid species identified by Rchb.f. in 1885.
ORIGIN: This species is a large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte that occurs in Sabah, Borneo in the Mt Kinabalu area in hill or lowland forests along streams at elevations of 600 to 1100 meters.
DESCRIPTION: This species is a large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte that occurs in Sabah, Borneo in the Mt Kinabalu area in hill or lowland forests along streams at elevations of 600 to 1100 meters with clustered, erect, simple yellowish green to yellow stems with many closely distichous, spreading, short, ovate-oblong to oblong, minutely obtusely bidentate, stiffly coriaceous, glabrous leaves that blooms in the fall on many, .2 to.32 [5 to 8 mm] long, glabrous, green, successively one to 2, 2 to 3 [4] flowered inflorescence with ovate, obtuse to acute, glabrous, pale brown floral bracts carrying showy flowers that arise all along the stem between the leaves.
