Orchid Species: Dendrobium scopula

Dendrobium scopula is an orchid species identified by Schltr. in 1912.
ORIGIN: Found in New Guinea on mossy trees in forests at elevations of 1200 to 1300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to large sized, cool growing epiphyte with a climbing, elongated rhizome giving rise to curved, many branching, very slender, densely leafy [broom-like] stems carrying many, linear, erect to nearly so, unequally bilobed apically leaves that are held towards the upper part of the stem that blooms in the summer on a short, single flowered inflorescence arising from the nodes along the sides of the stem.
