ORIGIN: Found in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Leewards, Trinidad and Tobago, the Netherland Antilles, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru and Brazil in cloud forests at elevations of 650 to 1900 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with patent to erect stems carrying distichous, alternate, articulate to the imbricating sheaths, linear, conspicuously apiculate, minutely ciliate towards the apex leaves that blooms in the spring, summer and fall on axillary, .8 to 1.4 [2 to 3.5 cm] long, very thin, single flowered inflorescence with a glabrous ovary and capsule and carrying mostly white, campanulate flowers.
