ORIGIN: Found in the India, Assam, Sri Lanka, Chinese Himalayas, Hong Kong, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, the Moluccas, the Philippines, New Guinea, Caroline Islands and Taiwan on hillsides in grass with long dry seasons at elevations of 400 to 1200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature to to small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with ovoid tubers giving rise to an erect stem carrying usually 2, ovate, acuminate, cordate leaves with the upper smaller and not cordate and placed just below the flower that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, 1 to 2 successively flowered inflorescence.
