Dracontia macrantha is an orchid species identified by (L.O.Williams) Luer in 2004. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Stelis cylindrata.
ORIGIN: Found in Costa Rica and Panama at elevations of 1900 to 2600 meters in oak forests.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial or epiphyte with stout, erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 loose tubular sheaths and another below the middle carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, obtuse, sessile leaf that is cuneate below into the base that blooms in the summer and fall on a lightly flexuous, distantly few flowered, 6 [15 cm] long, racemose inflorescence with a thin floral bract.
FLOWER SIZE: 1/2 inch [1.25 cm]
