ORIGIN: One of the most miniature of the Encyclia, this Brazilian, unifoliate, hot to warm growing epiphyte is found on tree trunks in the Atlantic coastal forest of Bahia to Sao Paulo states at elevations of 10 to 500 meters.

DESCRIPTION: One of the most miniature of the Encyclia, this Brazilian, unifoliate, hot to warm growing epiphyte is found on tree trunks in the Atlantic coastal forest of Bahia to Sao Paulo states at elevations of 10 to 500 meters with conic pseudobulbs enveloped basally by evanescent sheaths and carrying a single, apical, thin, smooth, linear leaf and blooms with more than one per pseudobulb, terminal, to 6 [15 cm] long, racemose, few flowered inflorescence occurring in nature in the spring and in cultivation late summer to early fall.
