ORIGIN: Endemic to Jalisco, Michoacan, Mexico, Morelos, and Oaxaca states of Mexico on trees in montane, dry or humid deciduous forests or oak-pine forests at elevations of 1200 to 1900 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature, warm to cool growing epiphyte needing a mount or small wood branch to be accomodated well with clustered, oval, bronze green, stalked pseudobulbs with basal sheaths carrying to 5, narrow-oblong, acuminate, 2 ranked, leaves with up to 4 sheathed and one apical that blooms in the late winter and spring on an arching to pendant, to 5 3/5 [15 cm] long, fractiflex, axillary, racemose to branched inflorescence that has several flowers all facing in a single plane, with several lanceolate, rigid bracts along its length that arise near the base of the pseudobulb. This species requires a short dry mid-winter rest.
