ORIGIN: Found in Benin, Guinea, Togo, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Zaire, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia Angola and Zimbabwe in woodlands among rocks on hillsides at elevations around 750 to 1600 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with partly above ground, conical, erect, enveloped bybrown sheahts, yellow when dry tubers giving rise to 3 to 9, in a fan, loinear, acuminate, not plicate, partly developed at flowering leaves taht blooms in the spring on an erect, peduncle with 1 to 2 sheaths, 4.8 to 8 [12 to 20 cm] long, laxly 4 to 9 flowered inflorescence with brownish, lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
