ORIGIN: Found in Tibet, the Chinese Himalayas and northern Myanmar in alpine grasslands at elevations of 3400 to 3800 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature to miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with a creeping, stoloniferous, cylindric rootstock giving rise to an erect to ascending stem with 1 to 2 basal, tubular sheaths and carrying a single cauline, linear to ligulate, obtuse to acute, basally clasping leaf that blooms in the late summer and early fall on a terminal, erect, slender, .8 to 2 [2 to 5 cm] long, 3 to 10+ flowered inflorescence sometimes with 1 foliaceous bract and lanceolate, to ovate-lanceolate, basal ones exceeding the ovary in length floral bracts.
