Orchid Species: Galeorchis roborowskyi
Galeorchis roborowskyi is an orchid species identified by (Maxim.) Nevski in V.L.Komarov (ed.) in 1935.
ORIGIN: Found in the western Himalayas, Chinese Himalayas, Assam, Nepal, Sikkim, eastern Himalayas and Myanmar at elevations of 2800 to 4900 meters in short grasslands and meadows in open forests in rocky areas and open ground amongst scrub or on marshy streamsides under rhodedendrom bushes.
DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with small, ellipsoid tubers giving rise to a glabrous stem with 1 to 2, basal sheaths and carrying 1 to 5, distant along stem, narrowly oblong, acute leaves that blooms in the late spring through summer on a secund, 2 to 4 [5 to 10 cm] long, glabrous, 3 to 6 inflorescence with lanceolate, acute to acuminate, leaf-like floral bracts with minutely glandular margins.
