ORIGIN: A medium sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid of the Eastern US and Canada that is found in thickets along streams and swamps, with 2 to 3, elliptic to lanceolate leaves and blooms on a terminal, erect, to almost 3' [90 cm] long, many [15 to 20] flowered, racemose inflorescence with fragrant flowers and slender floral bracts occurring in the late spring and summer.

DESCRIPTION: A medium sized, cold growing terrestrial orchid of the Eastern US and Canada that is found in thickets along streams and swamps, with 2 to 3, elliptic to lanceolate leaves and blooms on a terminal, erect, to almost 3' [90 cm] long, many [15 to 20] flowered, racemose inflorescence with fragrant flowers and slender floral bracts occurring in the late spring and summer.
