ORIGIN: Found from Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina near or in water and marshes as a large sized, hot to warm growing, terrestrial orchid at elevations of 550 to 850 meters.

DESCRIPTION: A large sized, hot to warm growing, terrestrial orchid at elevations of 550 to 850 meters with a leafy stem carrying linear to narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, conduplicate below, carinate leaves that blooms with a terminal, laxly few to several flowered, to 20 [50 cm] long, racemose inflorescence occurring from the spring through fall.
