ORIGIN: A miniature to large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial from Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy in xeric pinewoods in alpine valleys at elevations of 800 to 2200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: A miniature to large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial from Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Italy in xeric pinewoods in alpine valleys at elevations of 800 to 2200 meters with thick, pale green, pubescent towards the apex stems carrying cauline, slightly leathery, alternate, lanceolate median leaves and narrow, near erect, slightly arched and conduplicate, undulate and serrulate margined leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, laxly many flowered inflorescence arising in the late spring and summer.
