DESCRIPTION: Found in Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, French Guiana, Surinam, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte in wet montane and cloud forests at elevations of 100 to 1800 meters with fusiform, with long stipitate bases, slender, sulcate, acute stems with 2 to 3 basal, scarious bracts carrying a single, apical, linear, acute leaf that has a subsessile inflorescence with several, distichous, imbricating, scarious bracts and the floral bract exceeds the ovary in length and single apical, campanulate, nodding flowers and can bloom at any time of the year.
