ORIGIN: Found from Cuba, the Windward Islands, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte in wet montane forests at elevations of 800 to 2150 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Found from Cuba, the Windward Islands, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Bolivia as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing, caespitose epiphyte in wet montane forests at elevations of 800 to 2150 meters with a dark reddish brown, slender to stout, erect ramicaul enveloped by pubescent, lepanthiform sheaths with a single, apical, ellptic, minutely bidentate, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base, opaque reddish green leaf that blooms in the fall through spring on a dense, short, distichous, simultaneous few to several flowered inflorescence that is minutely pubescent and arises through a sheath at the leaf base with the flowers held close to the leaf base.
