ORIGIN: Found in Tolima, Colombia at elevations around 1500 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool growing terrestrial with stout erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, acute to subacute, gradually narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on a very flexuous, slender, disitichous, 10 [25 cm] long, loose, successively several flowered, racemose inflorescence arising from the apex of the ramicaul through a spathe and carrying oblique, acute, conduplicate floral bracts.
