DESCRIPTION: Found from Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru and Brazil as well as the Caribbean as a small sized, warm to hot growing epiphyte in dense clumps on twigs or branches in open pine forests, citrus groves or coffee plantations at elevations of sea level to 1100 meters with ovoid, compressed, sulcate pseudobulbs subtended by 1 or 2 foliaceous sheaths and carrying a single, apical, elliptic-ligulate to elliptic-lanceolate, oblique, tridentate at the obtuse apex, light green leaf and blooming on a basal, erect, slender, to 10 [25 cm] long, sublaxly several [12] flowered, arcuate to erect inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb with triangular-lanceolate, acuminate bracts and fragrant flowers occurring in the spring.
