Orchid Species: Liparis swenssonii

Liparis swenssonii is an orchid species identified by F.M.Bailey in 1906.
ORIGIN: Found in Queensland and New South Wales Australia as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial or lithophytic orchid on rocks in exposed locations at elevations of 200 to 1300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Found in Queensland and New South Wales Australia as a small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial or lithophytic orchid on rocks in exposed locations at elevations of 200 to 1300 meters with ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 1 or 2, narrowly elliptic, acute, basally clasping leaves and blooms on a terminal, erect, racemose, 8 [20 cm] long, several to many [10 to 30] flowered inflorescence arising in the fall and winter in Australia and has an unpleasant odor akin to urine.
FLOWER SIZE: 1/3 inch [1 cm]
