ORIGIN: Found in the eastern Himalayas and Nepal in tropical valleys at elevations of 500 to 830 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm growing terrestrial with a compressed, filiform, pseudobulbous stem enveloped by broad, acuminate, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying 3 to 5, plicate, oblong-lanceolate to elliptic-ovate, purple brown above, green beneath, wavy margined, slightly oblique, acute, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, racemose, laxly 6 to 12 flowered, glabrous, deeply ridged, 2 to 4.4 [5 to 11 cm] long inflorescence with lanceolate, reflexed floral bracts.
