DESCRIPTION: This small to medium sized, cool to cold growing, epiphytic species can be found in Jalisco and Michoacan stses of Mexico at an elevation of 1200 to 2300 meters with broadly ovate, laterally compressed, longitudinally rugose with age pseudobulb carrying 2 or 3, elliptic-lanceolate, rounded to acute, conduplicate below into the petiole-like base that blooms in the winter and spring on a basal, 3 1/2' [105 cm] long, racemose, many flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb and carrying showy, widely spread star-shaped flowers.
