Orchid Species: Odontochilus crispus

Odontochilus crispus is an orchid species identified by (Lindl.) Hook.f. in 1890.
ORIGIN: Found in the Chinese Himalayas, Assam, the eastern Himalayas, Nepal and Myanmar in open oak forests, shady secondary forests and in Bamboo forests at elevations around 360 to 2400 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with a decumbent, slender stem carrying 2 to 4, at the apex of the stem, ovate, acute, minutely undialte margins, narrowing below into the dialated petiolate base leaves that blooms in the later summer and earlier fall on a pubescent, shorter than the stem, 2.2 to 3.6 [5.5 to 9 cm] long, 4 to 8 flowered inflorescence with 1 to 2, lanceolate, acuminate, pubescent bracts and similar floral bracts.
