ORIGIN: Found in Costa Rica in open areas of wet, mixed, windy cloud forests in bright light at elevations around 1700 to 2500 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with elliptic to ovate, bright green, strongly latereally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs partially enveloped basally by a few, scarious leafless below and leaf-bearing above sheaths and carrying a single, apical, elliptic, acute, bright green, keeled, conduplicate below into the base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, basal, 10 to 24 [25 to 60 cm] long, slightly compressed, 3 to 5 flowered, racemose inflorescence with 3 to 5, distichous, conduplicate, oblong-lanceolate, keeled bracts placed at intervals all along the length.
