Oncidium herzogii is an orchid species identified by Schltr. in 1913. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Gomesa herzogii.
ORIGIN: Found in Mato Grosso do Sul Brazil, Bolivia and Argentina at elevations of 300 to 800 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with ovate, laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs partially enveloped below by 2 opposite, non-foliaceous sheaths and carrying 1 to 2 apical, coriaceous, lanceolate, obtuse, narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaves that blooms on an erect to spreading, peduncle shorter than the rachis, paniculate, usually with a single, short, 2 to 4 flowered branch and racemose above, successively opening, 3 to 4 at a time, several flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.
