ORIGIN: Found in Italy, Yugoslavia, Albania, Greece and Turkey as a miniature to small sized, cool growing terrestrial in calcareous soils in stony grasslands and open scrublands at elevations of sea level to 1500 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Found in Italy, Yugoslavia, Albania, Greece and Turkey as a miniature to small sized, cool growing terrestrial in calcareous soils in stony grasslands and open scrublands at elevations of sea level to 1500 meters with an ovoid tuber carrying an erect slender, flexuous stem with 2 to 4, linear to oblong-lanceolate leaves that are often spotted with purple that blooms in the spring on a slender, cylindrical, loosely many [to 20] flowered inflorescence with lanceolate bracts.
