DESCRIPTION: Medium to giant sized, cool to cold-growing terrestrial with a chain of underground pseudobulbs giving rise to 5 to 6, erect, oblanceolate, plicate leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a slender, erect, 10 to 30 flowered inflorescence enveloped completely by imbricate, papery sheaths with the flowers held towards the apex.
