ORIGIN: Found in New Guinea in sparse mossy subalpine scrub at elevations around 3300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with a slender, bract covered rhizome with close set, at right angles to the rhizome, glabrous, cylindrical-claviform, slightly ribbed pseudobulbs enveloped basally by bracts and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, papillate near the tip only, elliptic-spathulate, acute, narrowing below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter on 2, basal, erect, to 2.4 [6 cm] long, terete, single flowered inflorescence with one, tubular, obliquely truncate, acute, crested, glabrous bract and 1 to 2 others at the base.
