ORIGIN: Found in Cuba at elevations around 1500 to 1800 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial wit an ascending, glabrous, distally purberulent stem enveloped by few sheaths and carrying a few basal, ovate to oblong-lanceolate, acute, graduially narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, short, densely many flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, slightly shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
