DESCRIPTION: This miniature sized, pendant growing, caespitose epiphyte is from Ecuador and Peru in wet montane forests at elevations of 800 to 1600 meters with strongly compressed, elliptic-oblong, glossy pseudobulbs enveloped by basal, progressively larger, leaf-bearing sheaths which are indistinguishable from the single, apical, narrowly oblong, lanceolate, oblique, glossy, glabrous, gradually tapering to a slender pointed apex, conduplicate below into the base, dark green leaf and blooms on a short to 1 1/2 [4 cm], axillary, sequentially single flowered, racemose inflorescence, enveloped by 3 to 4 close, thin, scarious, imbricating conduplicate, long bracts, that is held amid the leaves and occurs intermitently throughout the year.
