Pleione lagenaria is an orchid species name for which no taxonomic record was found. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Pleione x lagenaria.
ORIGIN: Found in Yunnan China, Assam and Thailand at elevations of 1300 to 2500 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial that is a natural hybrid between P maculata and P praecox with bottle shaped, green mottled blackish brown pseudobulbs carrying narrowly oblanceolate,acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on 1 to 2, sheathed, 2.4 to 3.2 [6 to 8 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence carrying a fragrant flower.
