ORIGIN: Found in Ecuador in shady, wet tropical forests at elevations around 1900 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small to just medium sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect to arching, slender ramicaul enveloped basally by 2 tubular sheaths and another below the middle and carrying an arcuate to descending, coriaceous, narrowly elliptical-linear, acute, often with revolute margins, shallowly cordate, sessile base leaf that blooms in the late spring on a fascile of successive, single flowered inflorescence enclosed by a reclining spathe and carrying a non-resupinate flower and held close to the leaf base.
